Midweek Mindfulness ~ May 18th 2022
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
Let us take a moment to sit and rest with Jesus, the spring of living water
We offer you a song and a simple prayer

Today we meditate on Revelation 21:1-6
A simple prayer for those who long for a better world
We are thirsty, God!
Thirsty for hope,
for healing, for renewal.
Our tongues are parched
from crying out!
We work and give,
we mend what we can.
But it is still precious little
when we survey the crooked,
cracked land we tend.
What we can heal is precious,
but it just isn't enough.
We need you to come, Jesus!
We need a cure that runs deeper.
A river that won't run dry.
A healing that resurrects the driest bone.
We do what we can,
but the restoration our world needs
comes from your hands alone.
Without you, we can do nothing.
Without you, all our best attempts
and most loving intentions
will crumble and turn to dust.
So we trust in your promise,
that one day your city will truly arrive.
One day you will make your home
among us in a new way.
On the day the curse is broken.
Come Lord Jesus
One day the streets will flow
and flower with the river of life,
which brings healing wherever it goes!
Come Lord Jesus
One day you will return
to lead us into the city,
to the wedding feast of the Lamb!
Every tear will be wiped from our eyes,
every sorrow comforted.
And we will know wholeness
in your presence
Come Lord Jesus
On that glorious day
Fear will fade away
Pain will cease
Grief will be made whole
Wounds will heal
And Death itself will die at last!
Come Lord Jesus!
The former things will pass away,
relics of a bygone night
that has dawned at last.
You will be our light,
and we will never again
be cast into shadow.
Come Lord Jesus!
Alpha and Omega,
the beginning and the end,
bring heaven down!
We thirst for you
in a dry and weary land.
Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come
Come Lord Jesus come
Amen
