Today we meditate on Philippians 2:1-13

The Name above all names

Hallelujah to the Lord of Heaven and Earth!
The wounded king,
the suffering servant,
the one who washed our feet,
the one who knelt.
All hail King Jesus!

He traded away almighty power
for frailty and shame,
eschewing the tactics of tyrants,
forsaking pride and ultimatums.
He came to us as a servant,
a rabbi, a simple man.
All hail King Jesus!

While we fled the spectre of Death,
He set His face right for it,
squaring off with its dreadful hunger.
But when we took Him in chains
and nailed Him to the cross,
He did not resist or fight back
with angel armies.
Instead, He accepted the barbed crown
and was enthroned over the skull.
All hail King Jesus!

In awe we watched the Lord of Life
give way to Death's poisoned bite.
In tears we saw His final breaths.
In darkness we buried Him.
In pain we mourned Him.
But it was not the end!
God the Father stepped in
to the tomb, embracing the Son
with His unstoppable Life.
The Father exalted Him,
lifting the Son out of the pit
and setting Him on High!
All hail King Jesus!

He has been given the Name
that is above every name.
Jesus the Christ is LORD
in Heaven and on Earth
and even in the realm of the dead.
His thorned crown reigns!
His blood covers all!
His kingdom will never end!
All hail King Jesus!

He is our Pure Lamb
and humble servant.
He is our mighty Lion
and Lord of Lords.
He is our Deliverer and friend,
Our Saviour and freedom.
Cast your crowns before Him,
for He alone is worthy.
This Jesus is the one true King.

Hosanna to the One who broke wide the grave!
Hosanna to the Risen Lord!
Hosanna to King Jesus!

Maranatha
