Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
Let us take a moment to sit and rest with Jesus, the spring of living water
We offer you a song and a simple prayer

Today we meditate on Matthew 20:1-16
To till the earth
How beautiful, the heart of our God.
How His gifts overflow!
How His creativity astounds and awes!
He has spun planets on his wheel
and arrayed the path
for our world through the heavens.
He kindled the Sun with a word
and lit the dark of space for all to see.
The highest heights were chiseled by Him,
the deepest depths carved out
as a home for Leviathan to play in.
Every silent night of peaceful snowfall,
every spraying wave tossed by steady rock,
every sunbeam pillar in the clouds,
every rolling hill of green or amber,
all these belong to You; You made them.
The soaring hawk, the prowling lion,
the calling loon, the purring cat
all have Your Name on their lips.

Teach us how to sing Your praise,
o Father of Lights!
You made us to tend this garden.
Show us how to work and dream
and protect and shape it for Your glory.
For You look for workers
who will help to cultivate Your fields.
You made it all, but you have no desire
to care for it all on Your own.
Instead, You search the markets,
the towns, the streets, the homes,
looking for partnership.
Your heart is to share it with us.
To be with us,
not above or beyond us.
To till the earth beside us.
To send us out together
to bring in the harvest.
Thank you for this honour, Father.
All you give us is grace,
and it is enough.
Give us the glad hearts of the righteous,
that we might tend this world with Your joy.
You will give those with open hands
just what they need.
