Today we meditate on Revelation 22:12-21 + a prayer from St. Francis of Assisi

A simple prayer for bringing heaven to earth

Jesus, we trust that one day
you will restore all things,
and heaven will meet earth
with a joyous wedding feast.
Every wound will heal.
Every crack will mend.
Every heart be made new.

That day cannot come too soon!
Let it be this very year,
This very hour, Lord,
that you return.

But until you do,
teach us how to live on earth
as if we are already
at your side, complete.

For today, let us learn
at the feet of St. Francis,
who knew something
of heaven's strange
yet beautiful melodies.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not
so much seek to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

In your mercy, Lord,
Hear our prayer
